What is extraordinary about this Ros? is not just the plethora of silver and gold medals that it keeps on winning, but the fact that the wine is produced by a co-operative and of a small village outside Agde at that.
In fact 'Le Rose de Bessan' has become a bit of a phenomenon in the locality. The co-operative produces several other delightful wines, but it has named itself after this famous wine. As you enter the village, sign posts everywhere direct you to 'Le Ros' de Bessan?.

The co-operative is the umbrella for no less than 150 winegrowers covering 150 hectares of vines. It is also impressive to be controlling such high quality over such an area with different growers to be able to consistently win medals in International Competitions.

Warry Warble: The French produce some superb Ros?s, being particularly famed for their Tavels and Cotes de Provence, but for Bill 'Le Roso de Bessan is top of the bill'.
